Zurich 2005

Some of the snaps I took on the morning of June 24, 2005, following
breakfast on my hotel terrace a few minutes from these locations

View from a footpath between Claridge Hotel and Baur au Lac Hotel.
The footpath has a steep upward gradient at both ends and is
greatly elevated above the road to which it runs parallel.

Front entrance of Baur au Lac Hotel. As I first walked in, I had to
navigate around several large and expensive cars, showing that
even exclusive hotels have parking problems in Zurich.

Facade of Baur au Lac Hotel from southwest. The Baur au Lac Club
is located leftward, with access via the bridge at the lower left,
and sat originally in solitude, surrounded by trees and water.

Statue of the ancient Greek hero Ganymede and his eagle. I have
not yet determined his relevance to the city. Zurich is located
at the north end of a large lake with hundreds of boats on it.
